Service Description
Myofascial Cupping Therapy is a form of traditional or alternative medicine that involves placing specialised cups on the skin. These cups create a localised suction or vacuum effect on the targeted areas. The primary goal of myofascial cupping is to address soft tissue restrictions by encouraging its release and improving mobility. This process also promotes better blood flow and enhances lymphatic circulation in the treated region. The effect of the cups is similar to the benefits provided by massage techniques, offering relief and relaxation to the client. One of the notable advantages of using cupping therapy is that it allows practitioners to deliver effective treatment while reducing strain on their hands. This provides an alternative approach to traditional hands-on methods, enriching the therapeutic experience for both the practitioner and the client. Cupping therapy serves a range of purposes. These include but are not limited to: • Detoxification: Removing harmful toxins from the body. • Improved Circulation: Enhancing blood flow to specific areas of the body. • Pain Relief: Easing chronic pain, particularly in the back, neck, and shoulders. • Stress Reduction: Promoting relaxation and alleviating anxiety. • Immune System Support: Strengthening the body's natural deference against illness. Common Conditions that may be addressed with Cupping Therapy • Muscular pain (e.g., neck, shoulder, and back pain) • Migraines and tension headaches • Digestive disorders • Sports injuries The earliest references to cupping therapy trace back to the Chinese civilisation. During this time, cupping was used as a healing technique to treat a range of ailments, with the first recorded instances attributed to practitioners who used animal horns for suction—a method often referred to as "horn therapy." Cupping Therapy incorporates two main types : - Wet Cupping (Hijama) - creating small incisions on the skin - Dry Cupping This course covers the techniques of Dry Cupping only and explores methods for addressing fascia restrictions.
