The Level 3 ITEC Extended Diploma in Sports Massage sets out to equip learners with the skills to effectively provide sports massage treatments to a range of clients who have dysfunctional tissue, without acute/post-acute injuries or underlying pathological conditions. This course is suitable for those who hold already a Level 3 Body Massage qualification, physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths. Objectives: to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to - assess clients and construct a sports massage treatment plan - understand the principles of soft tissue dysfunction - understand how to determine the appropriate Sports massage techniques and massage medium, to include classical massage techniques and sports specific massage techniques including manual lymphatic drainage, neuro-muscular technique, muscle energy technique, soft tissue release, connective tissue massage and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, maintenance, application of cryotherapy and thermotherapy. There are 5 days in total to attend as follows: Day 1 -2 - 9 & 10 February Day 3 -4 - 9 & 10 March Day 5 - 19 April 2025 - Assessment Day (you must bring your own model) A total of min 15 sports massage treatments to be performed and logged. The theory exam is online and will be scheduled for the assessment day. You are required to bring your own towels, sanitizer, wipes, etc - the exact details will be confirmed in your booking email. Student insurance required. Please note a further fee of £160 will be required upon registration onto the course that covers your registration with ITEC, Exam and Certification. Pre-requisites: A recognised Level 3 qualification in body massage; qualified osteopaths, physiotherapists or chiropractors.
