Service Description

The Level 3 ActiveIQ Diploma in Sports Massage sets out to equip learners with comprehensive practical and theoretical expertise to effectively provide massage treatments to the public and to secure a thriving career in the massage industry. Aim of the course: Equip the learners with the knowledge and skills to provide sports massage therapy to a range of clients who have dysfunctional tissue, without acute/post-acute injuries or underlying pathological conditions. Objectives: to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to - assess clients and construct a sports massage treatment plan - understand the principles of soft tissue dysfunction - understand how to determine the appropriate Sports massage techniques – to include selecting a suitable massage medium for the client’s skin type, classical and advanced massage movements and adapting the treatment to the client’s specific needs The learner will also develop knowledge about current legislation and working practice requirements and client care and communication which is essential to work and be successful in the industry. Qualification Structure: Unit 1: Anatomy & Physiology for Sports Massage Unit 2- Principles of Health and Fitness Unit 3 - Understand Principles of Soft Tissue Dysfunction Unit 4 - Professional Practice in Sports Massage Unit 5 - Sports Massage Treatments There are 7 days in total to attend as follows: - Day 1 to Day 6 are practical days - Day 7 is your practical exam day (you must bring your own model) The practical exam is provisionally booked for 7th December (TBC) A total of min 30 sports massage treatments to be performed and logged to include pre-event, post-event and maintenance massage. Your A&P course is an online course and can study at your own pace however you must complete this course no later than your practical exam Day 7. A&P Exam is online and will be scheduled approx. 2 weeks after Day 7. You are required to have Student Insurance in place while studying. This can be done with FHT for a small fee and they will convert it to Practitioner Insurance once you qualify. You are required to bring your own towels, sanitizer, wipes, etc - the exact details will be confirmed in your booking email. Please note a further fee of £160 will be required upon registration onto the course that covers your registration with ActiveIQ, Exam and Certification. This is payable directly to your Tutor. Pre-requisites: none - course is suitable for beginners.
